Polaroid 8x10 Mini Session FAQ
Wait, isn’t Polaroid Film Dead?!
Polaroid is very much alive! They still make polaroid film to this very day. This batch of 8x10 film is freshly handmade at Polaroid’s factories.
What is the experience like?
I highly recommend watching this video by good friend Mat Marrash who has shot this same film (but expired).
How is this process different than a traditional Polaroid Photo?
The process is very similar, however, the image is captured on a negative and then run through a processor and it takes 15 minutes for the polaroid to process. This image will be captured like the ‘old ways’ with my head under a cloth, with a large-format camera.
$300 is pretty expensive for the session. Why so much?
This film is incredibly rare and very hard to source. Polaroid only makes limited batches of this film. I have a very limited quantity in stock. Ensuring the image is captured perfectly every session requires my attention to detail and hyperfocus to ensure your experience is a great one!
What should I wear?
This is a color film! Let’s showcase that! Have a wardrobe in mind for the session. Solid colors are best. Avoid clothing with brand names or lettering as they will appear backward in the final image. I am more than happy to coordinate a specific look for the shoot. Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! I would recommend no more than 4 people for a single image.
I need to reschedule! Can I photograph another day?
Unfortunately, some equipment is rented and must be returned after the weekend. The mini-session may be moved to another time if available.
What is the cancellation policy?
100% refund up to 7-days before the mini-session appointment (before June 19th). 50% refund within 7-days of the appointment (after June 19th).
